Michael Keilmeier explains: Home (1974) was another early Beoddy painting. Many of these early paintings he regarded as "socially irresponsible". This work was more about his own personal therapy, rather than the social statements he made in his later work. "Home" is the first painting Beoddy features a transsexual character, a subject that would later dominate much of his work.
