FZAP

Michael Keilmeier explains: In the fall of 1979, Beoddy created a host of sidekicks in comic books he wrote and drew. Cosmic Wevil, Buckethead and the Suitcase Doll were born. He would refer to these characters in much of his work, creating doll versions of them and often carried with him. This painting, "FZAP" (1986), features these personalities and several others. Jim shows off one of his painted suits while his friends go about their business of saving the universe and blowing things up.
David Greene adds: This painting is Jim's most obvious and easy-to-read example of his "Network Realism" painting technique.
